This 1963 Gibson SG had been broken at the neck joint then VERY VERY crudely repaired. The neck joint was put together with nails and wood putty then painted over. I cut away the mangled wood and replaced it with new mahogany. Once I had reset the neck I carefully removed the black paint and touched up the lacquer around the repair. The repair is very is barely visible and the guitar is solid.
